How SlopSpot Works
A game that teaches you to see through AI-generated content.
The Game
SlopSpot shows you content — text passages, images, or video clips — and asks one question: is it AI-generated or human-made?
After each guess, you see a detailed breakdown explaining what signals indicate the content's origin. Over time, you develop sharper instincts for detecting AI content in the wild.
Your Detection Skill Rating (DSR) tracks your progress. Faster correct answers on harder content earn more points. Compete on leaderboards, maintain daily streaks, and challenge friends.
Why We Built This
AI-generated content is everywhere — in news feeds, social media, search results, and messages. Most people have no training for distinguishing real from synthetic content.
SlopSpot turns AI literacy into a skill you can practice. Instead of passively consuming content, you actively learn the telltale patterns that separate human work from machine output.
We believe the best defense against misinformation is an informed, critical audience — and that building those skills should be free and fun.
Powered by Baloney
SlopSpot is built on top of Baloney, a multi-modal AI content detection platform. Baloney's detection engine analyzes text, images, and video using statistical analysis, neural network classifiers, and ensemble methods to determine whether content is AI-generated.
