What We Collect

• Anonymous session IDs: A random identifier stored in your browser to track gameplay progress. No personal information is attached unless you create an account.
• Gameplay data: Your guesses, response times, accuracy, and streaks — used to calculate your Detection Skill Rating and populate leaderboards.
• Account info (optional): If you sign up, we store your email address and display name. Passwords are handled securely by Supabase Auth and never stored in plain text.
• Analytics: We use Vercel Web Analytics to collect anonymized page view and performance data. No personal identifiers are tracked.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the SlopSpot game experience
• To calculate scores, rankings, and leaderboards
• To generate aggregated, anonymized research data on AI detection skills
• To maintain and troubleshoot the service

What We Never Do

• Sell your data to third parties
• Share personal information with advertisers
• Use your data for targeted advertising
• Store passwords in plain text or log sensitive information

Cookies

SlopSpot uses essential cookies for authentication (Supabase Auth session cookies) and a localStorage value to store your anonymous session ID. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

Data Retention

Anonymous session data is retained indefinitely for aggregate research purposes. If you create an account and later wish to delete it, contact us and we will remove your account and associated personal data.
